One of the most important new features of the iPhone 14 has caused problems in some cases since its introduction. An iOS update that has now been released should now remedy the situation. The last major update for 2022 is still pending.
iPhone owners can once again install a new update on their smartphone. iOS 16.1.2 is currently offered for installation in the settings. Apple has an important improvement in store for iPhone 14 and 14 Pro owners in particular . But even if you are using an older model, the upgrade is advisable because it also closes security gaps. As usual, you can install it for free and without delays from now on.
IOS UPDATE SHOULD HELP AGAINST FALSE ALARMS
The list of new features in the update to iOS 16.1.2 is, as the small jump in the version number already suggests, short and sweet. The company promises “improved compatibility with mobile network operators” and “optimized accident detection on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models”. The latter in particular has caused problems in some cases since the current smartphone generation was introduced. iOS 16.1.2 should now apparently remedy this
So we reported at the beginning of October that the iPhone 14 happily gave a false alarm and called the police. Among other things, when riding a roller coaster, it happened that an accident was incorrectly recognized. The noise and forces of such journeys could irritate the sensors in the iPhone. It remains to be seen if and how exactly Apple fixed these bugs.
Furthermore, iOS 16.1.2 also includes important security updates . Apple has not yet given exact details – these will only be submitted in the coming days.
TESTERS GET 16.2 BETA 4
Almost at the same time as the update to iOS 16.1.2, Apple made another preliminary version of iOS 16.2 available for beta testers to download. Beta 4 is now available for developers to download. Participants in the public beta program usually don’t have to wait long either.
According to current reports, the final version of the next major update will be released later this year . This suggests that the bugs in iOS 16.1.1 and earlier versions of the operating system were important enough to push in yet another minor update.
