Galaxy A53 successor: Samsung is redesigning the mid-range in 2023

The Samsung Galaxy A53 is currently our readers’ most popular smartphone. In previous years, the A52 , A51 and A50 were able to secure these titles. The expectations for the Galaxy A54, which could be on the market in just a few weeks, are correspondingly high. Now the first photos and details of the equipment have become known.

GALAXY A54: THIS IS SAMSUNG’S MOST POPULAR SMARTPHONE OF 2023

After there were only minimal visual differences in Samsung’s mid-range this year, a major design change is due in 2023. Photos by the well-known leaker “OnLeaks” confirm a new design language that visually matches the upcoming Galaxy S23 flagship.

Both the display and the back are kept completely flat. The usual “camera element” at the top left is also gone. Instead, the camera lenses are housed individually on the back.

SMALLER DISPLAY, NEW PROCESSOR?

The built-in OLED screen should still have a Full HD resolution and a 120 Hertz refresh rate. In terms of size, on the other hand, there could be a step back from 6.5 to 6.4 inches. The edges of the screen, on the other hand, are slightly wider than before in the photos. This change is also predicted for the upcoming flagship smartphones.

No details are known about the processor. In the past generations, Samsung switched between Qualcomm and chips from its own production every year. This year it would be Qualcomm’s turn again. Possibly with the Snapdragon 778G+, which is also in the Nothing Phone 1 .

A new 50-megapixel sensor is said to be used for the main camera. At first glance, a downgrade from the previous 64 megapixels, but the number of pixels says little about the photo quality.

GALAXY A34: THE CHEAPER BROTHER OF THE A54

The cheaper Samsung Galaxy A34 should also come in a new design with a completely flat back. In contrast to the A54, the screen here grows from 6.4 to 6.5 inches. This would make the cheap smartphone larger than the more expensive model for the first time.

Striking in both models: There are only three cameras (48+8+5 megapixels) on the back. According to older rumors, Samsung will no longer use the depth camera in the future, since this information can also be easily determined via the remaining sensors. In this way, you can distribute the budget across the remaining three sensors and achieve better image quality.
