Driving a Tesla will be significantly cheaper. Tesla has now announced that both the charging current of the Tesla Supercharger and the Tesla cars themselves will be massively reduced in price in Europe and thus also in Germany.
Model 3 and Model Y are getting cheaper across Europe. Tesla has now officially announced this. Almost overnight, the prices for an electric car rushed down by up to 9,100 euros. This is the Model Y with rear-wheel drive, which is now available from 44,890 euros. So far, the starting price for this model was almost 54,000 euros. In addition, long delivery times are a thing of the past. If you order the standard version of the Model Y on the website, delivery should take place in February or March. The Model 3 drops to a starting price of 43,990 euros, previously it was just under 50,000 euros.
With the price reduction, Tesla apparently wants to be considered a realistic car manufacturer for normal customers again. In the course of the supply chain problem, Tesla had increased the prices for its cars enormously last year and had promised long delivery times. These problems now appear to have been overcome. Nevertheless, there are also price increases – namely for the models that are unlikely to be affordable for normal customers anyway. The Model S now costs at least 112,990 euros, the Model S Plaid variant at least 137,990 euros and the Model X starts at 120,990 euros.
REFUELING AT THE TESLA SUPERCHARGER IS CHEAPER AGAIN
“ Filling up ” with the Tesla is also becoming cheaper. Because if you want to charge the battery quickly on long journeys, Tesla drivers can use the company’s own Tesla Supercharger. In the course of the energy crisis, the price of electricity had recently risen to up to 70 cents per kilowatt hour. Tesla has now lowered the prices again, apparently reacting to the lower prices on the electricity exchange. Electricity on the Supercharger now costs 47 cents per kilowatt hour (instead of 63 cents previously). Only between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. is it a little more at 52 instead of the previous 70 cents per kilowatt hour. Prices may still vary. The tariff shown on the Tesla display is decisive.
The price reduction of Tesla cars in Europe was preceded by price reductions in other regions of the world. Prices had already been reduced in China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Australia, and Europe and the USA are now to follow . Tesla had recently recorded a significant drop in demand . Curious: The price reduction in China was not without consequences. There were protests by Tesla drivers because of the price cuts. Tesla does not get any applause for the measure on the stock exchange either. The price reduction is likely to boost demand – but at the expense of the margin. The shareholders, in turn, do not like that, which is why the share was under selling pressure after the price reductions were announced.
