Microsoft 365 Basic: New subscription presented at a low price

Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) bundles Microsoft services such as Office, OneDrive and Outlook in one subscription. Now a new price level is being introduced, which should cost significantly less than the previous models. These features are included.

The Microsoft 365 subscription is currently available in two versions: Single and Family. The range of functions is the same, only that the family version can be shared with up to 5 other family members. The costs are 7 / 10 euros per month or 69 / 99 euros per year. Now there is a new variant that will cost just 2 euros per month.

MICROSOFT 365 BASIC: THAT’S IN THE NEW SUBSCRIPTION

Microsoft 365 Basic subscription can be booked from January 30 for either 2 euros per month or 20 euros per year. It includes 100 gigabytes of OneDrive storage, ad-free Outlook Premium, and access to Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 support experts.

In the course of the year, further functions are to be added that have so far been reserved for the more expensive subscriptions. This includes numerous security features, such as restoring files after a ransomware attack and creating password-protected or time-limited links when sharing OneDrive data with others.

Those who currently have the “OneDrive Standalone 100GB” plan will be automatically switched to Microsoft 365 Basic and can look forward to more functions for the same price.

However, Microsoft 365 Basic does not include the Office programs for Windows or free Skype minutes for calls to the telephone network abroad. However, Office can be used free of charge in the browser and via the app on the smartphone. There is also news to report here.

NEW OFFICE APP ANNOUNCED

Microsoft’s Office app was previously available simply under the name “Office” for Android and iOS. This is now being renamed “Microsoft 365” and given a new design. In the app, not only Word, Powerpoint and Excel documents can be edited, but also PDFs can be converted, images and documents can be scanned and online surveys can be created. OneDrive and Teams are also directly integrated. The update is to be distributed to all platforms in the course of January.
