If you opt for the bank’s unlimited account, you can even secure a Visa Card Gold with attractive additional services . Now Germany’s largest direct bank is following suit. ING: USE VISA CARD AND COLLECT BONUS

The only requirement for receiving the bonus: the Visa debit card included free of charge must be actively used. It must be used at least five times within the first four months after opening the account. Only then does the bonus of 50 euros land on the current account. The Visa debit card is a kind of replacement for a Girocard ( EC card ), which has not been available free of charge from ING for a few months now, but costs an extra 99 cents a month . The free Visa cardbut can also be used in many shops to make payments and at ATMs in all euro countries to withdraw money (mostly) free of charge. It can also be stored on the smartphone or smartwatch for contactless payment via Apple Pay or Google Pay .

By the way, the ING salary account is basically free if you are under 28 years old. For all others, there is always no basic fee if a monthly payment of at least 700 euros is recorded on the account. For example through a salary, an annuity or a pension. If less than 700 euros end up in the account per month, the monthly basic fee is 4.90 euros. The free ING current account is not only available to individual customers. It can also be used as a joint account by two people with the same primary residence.
