The Telekom discounter Congstar has launched a new tariff, which is a bit complicated to understand, but still has good conditions. We explain what you get for your money and how you get the tariff.
The tariff is a cooperation between Congstar and YouTube Shorts. The Google streaming service YouTube has been trying for some time to make its new shorts profile better known through video producers and now also through partnerships. YouTube only plays a role in the naming and the action code, but has no other relevance. The promotional tariff is valid until the end of the year and is based on the Congstar tariff Allnet Flat L – but with a comprehensive modification that is sometimes difficult to understand even for tariff professionals.
THIS IS WHAT THE CONGSTAR YOUTUBE TARIFF OFFERS
As part of the promotional tariff, you will initially receive 26 GB of LTE data volume in the Telekom mobile network per month. In addition, an SMS and telephone flat rate is included for all SMS and calls within Germany. The data volume can be used at up to 50 Mbit/s, which is completely sufficient for use on a smartphone. The 26 GB data volume consists of 25 GB regular and 1 GB extra data volume.
From the 13th month, your data volume increases by a further 5 GB per month, so that you can use 31 GB of data volume in the 13th to the 24th month of your contract period. After two years, the 1 GB extra data volume is gone again, but you get an additional 5 GB data volume from the third year of the contract and can use 35 GB per month after 24 months. Another 5 GB will be added annually.

The idea that as a loyal customer you get more data volume is not new. The O2 was introduced with O2 Grow , Congstar copied it shortly afterwards. It is also known, among other things, from numerous Freenet deal tariffs that extra data volume is no longer granted after a campaign period of two years. However, the fact that data volume is canceled on the one hand and booked on the other at the same time is unique. Nevertheless, the tariff is very attractive in the current market environment in the Telekom network .
CHOICE BETWEEN 1 AND 24 MONTHS MINIMUM TERM
The price remains at 25 euros per month. You have the choice between a contract that you can cancel monthly and a contract that you can only cancel after two years. The only difference is the deployment cost. These amount to a one-time fee of 35 euros for a short contract period, and a one-time fee of 15 euros for a two-year commitment. You can get the SIM card either as a classic SIM card or as an eSIM .
It is important to note that the promotional tariff is booked via the Congstar website using the Allnet Flat L tariff. The special conditions are only displayed to you after you have entered the code “YTSHORTS” during the booking process. Only then do these conditions apply. Otherwise you only get 25 GB for 27 euros. The code is entered after you have chosen a new smartphone or continue the order without a device.
