Disney remains on track to bring blockbusters to Disney+ quickly after their theatrical release. Now it also hits the brand new Marvel film, for which the start date for the streaming service has now been set.
Disney got serious and already postponed all kinds of films in 2021 . This included the Marvel film that was supposed to complete the fourth phase of the MCU. In the meantime it has been shown in cinemas and only a short time later it will be online, exclusively for Disney+.
SHORTLY AFTER THE CINEMA: “BLACK PANTHER” IS COMING TO DISNEY +
We are talking about “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” , which started in German cinemas in November 2022. The Marvel blockbuster can still be seen on the big screen in part in the new year. But just a few weeks after its theatrical release, Disney + keeps its promise and brings the MCU film online.
So fans can choose to watch Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the cinema or at home. Because the start date has already been set: “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will start streaming exclusively on Disney + on February 1st. This means that there are exactly 84 days between the theatrical release and that on the streaming platform.
Disney seems to be sticking to the strategy of bringing cinema films quickly to its own streaming platform. Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness came to Disney+ in just 47 days. “Lightyear” and “Death on the Nile” shared the same fate.
THAT’S WHAT THE MARVEL BLOCKBUSTER IS ABOUT
Wakanda is in turmoil because they are at war with Atlantis. Now that T’Challa is much needed, Namor (Tenoch Huerta), the leader of Atlantis, comes to the fore and wields his power.
In order to defend themselves against Atlantis, the people have to stick together and are united above all by one thing: the mourning for their Black Panther. They get support from Riri Williams, better known as Ironheart (Dominique Thorne).
EXPECTED MCU LAUNCHES IN 2023
As of now, two more Marvel films are in the starting blocks for the new year. “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” is scheduled to hit theaters on February 15 and “The Marvels” on July 28 of this year. In between, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will also be released on May 5th.
