Elvah: Flat charge for e-cars has an attractive additional feature

Good news for everyone who likes to drive their e-car beyond German borders. The Elvah charging flat rate is now no longer only available in Germany. The range of usable charging stations is being increased significantly.
The charging flat rate for electric cars from Elvah can now be used at 150,000 charging points - across Europe.

A few weeks ago we tested Elvah’s flat-rate charging system . With it you can charge your e-car as often as you want at a monthly flat rate. Or you can use the cheaper Flex tariff. As an infrequent driver, you can benefit from low kWh prices for charging your electric car. Problem so far: Elvah was limited to charging within Germany. But that is now changing.

ELVAH CAN NOW BE USED ACROSS EUROPE

Because from now on it is possible to use the Elvah app in over 30 countries all over Europe. For example in popular holiday destinations such as Austria, Italy, France, the Netherlands and also in Switzerland . Just in time for the first summer holidays in parts of Germany, the range of charging stations has tripled, according to the operator. As of now, the Elvah Flat and Elvah Flex tariffs can be used at more than 150,000 public charging points. Strong: Even hyperchargers, which often cost a high surcharge from other providers, are included.

In the meantime, nothing should change in terms of prices. The new EU feature is available via the Elvah app at no extra charge. It can be activated via the respective customer profile. You can book the flat rate depending on the car used and the usable battery size at prices between 89 and 199 euros per month. With the Flex tariff, the first three charging packages, each with a volume of 25 kWh, cost 8.99 euros each. With optimal utilization, this corresponds to the equivalent of just under 36 cents per kWh. Each additional 25 kWh package costs 13.99 euros.

EU OPTION INITIALLY STILL IN BETA

In a first step, charging the e-cars at a flat rate outside of Germany is still a kind of beta test. Elvah co-founder Sören Ziems says: “We are constantly driven by the feedback from our users. Therefore, this extension is also a beta version, which we want to continuously expand together with our users. We want to improve our offer even further and therefore no longer charge a cent for charging abroad with our tariffs. ”

It is at least not ruled out that charging an e-car in other EU countries may cost a surcharge at a later date. At the same time, the beta test does not guarantee 100 percent that everything works as error-free as it does in Germany. Users are encouraged to use the feedback function in the app to share any problems directly with Elvah.

An extension of the Elvah tariffs without surcharge is very gratifying in times like these. Because recently it became known that not only EnBW , but also Shell Recharge will raise the prices for e-car charging. PlugSurfing has promised a price reduction, but after a strong price increase at the beginning of the year, this is actually just a drop in the ocean.
