Location tracking is one of the most important functions of a modern smartphone. It is required for countless functions and apps such as navigation or simply sharing the live location with friends. What many do not know, however: at least under Android , the location can be adjusted as required without great effort – without jailbreaks and similar methods. If you want to know how to do it – even if it’s just to play a prank on a friend – you’ve come to the right place.
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LOCATION MANUALLY
In order to be able to change your GPS coordinates later with just one click, a few settings must first be made. Because access to the so-called “developer options” is a prerequisite for the success of the whole campaign. However, these are deactivated at the factory and must first be switched on in the “Via telephone” settings field. To do this, the option “Build number” must be clicked seven times. The developer options can then be selected in the advanced settings or under “System & Updates”.
In the second step, an app must now be downloaded that implements the location manipulation. To do this, you can simply enter “fake GPS ” in the search field in the Play Store and select an appropriate application based on its ratings. We tested the procedure with the ” GPS Emulator ” app . The application’s menu is self-explanatory, but the program must first be given the necessary rights – and this is where the developer options come into play. There you have to locate the field “Select app for simulated locations” and then select the previously downloaded app. And the fun can begin.
Attention: Depending on the user interface, the individual designations in the settings can vary slightly. So pay less attention to the exact wording of the windows and more to their meaning.

As soon as you have activated your location services and selected a location in the simulation application, all you have to do is open Google Maps or a similar app . If the digital change of location worked, the application should show your simulated position instead of your actual location.
