Free: This app turns your cell phone into a professional camera

The manual camera mode can make a big difference not only with a semi-professional DSLR camera, but also with cell phones. Unfortunately, this is usually not particularly intuitive and its range of functions is often severely limited. A temporarily free DSLR Pro app can help.

Since most modern smartphones use either Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android operating system, there is hardly a mobile phone that denies users a manual camera mode. Depending on the in-house user interface, however, it can happen, especially with Android devices, that its handling is anything but intuitive and convenient. And the range of functions is usually very limited. Both problems for which there is an easy solution – and much more.

DSLR CAMERA PROFESSIONAL: PREMIUM APP FOR FREE

The “ Manual Camera Pro: DSLR Cam ” application gets just about everything that is technically possible out of the smartphone camera. Interested parties normally have to pay 4.29 euros for this privilege, but the Pro app can currently be downloaded and installed completely free of charge.

The range of functions is considerable. Of course, the resolution , the ISO value and the exposure time can be set manually. But that is by far not all. For example, users can switch on all of the main camera’s sensors as needed – even if they are auxiliary sensors such as a monochrome sensor. The white balance and focus can also be adjusted either manually or using several presets.

Furthermore, the DSLR app offers a whole range of additional features, such as a histogram. However, if you use manual focus, an automatic zoom can be switched on, and the function of the volume rocker can also be set as you like.

The almost professional camera app is very popular. It has been downloaded over a million times on the Play Store and has a rating of 4.4 stars out of 5 (21,400 reviews). Nevertheless, there is a major shortcoming: the application was last updated in April 2020. As a result, devices with a newer Android version may have certain limitations or bugs. It is also unclear how long the app will remain free before the old price applies again. If you want to benefit from the professional functions, you have to be quick.
