What are the fastest 5G smartphones in Germany? The answer to this question clearly shows that there is one provider in the lead in this country. At the same time, the list also has a surprise in store.
5G is now a general term for all mobile phone users. At the same time, mobile phone technology is largely found in all current smartphones. Ookla , the creators of the popular performance test Speedtest , have now published an overview of the fastest 5G devices in 10 countries. Germany is also there. Since the list is limited to the third quarter of 2022, this means that newer devices such as Apple’s iPhone 14 or Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4appeared in some regions. The prerequisite for participation was a market share of at least 0.5 percent and at least 100 measurements in the Speedtest database. The various mobile phone providers were combined.
5G SPEED IN GERMANY: A CLEAR WINNER
The results in Germany clearly show who is ahead in this country. The iPhone 14 Pro takes first place, closely followed by the 14 Pro Max . The median download speed is between around 181 and 178 Mbit/s, while uploading is still around 30 Mbit/s.
As you can see from the graphic, two other 5G smartphones from Apple follow in third and fourth place . Here it is the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, which achieve around 148 Mbit/s in download and 22 Mbit/s in upload.
Only in fifth place is an Android cell phone. The OnePlus 9 Pro 5G finishes the list with a download of 141 Mbit/s and an upload of 22 Mbit/s. Smartphones from Samsung did not make it into the top 5 in Germany.
MOBILE PHONE COMPARISON OUTSIDE OF GERMANY
The situation is different in other parts of the world. In China, the OnePlus 9 5G takes first place. The median speeds are also significantly higher in China than in Germany. The top performer achieves almost 350 Mbit/s (download) and 43 Mbit/s (upload). The four following smartphones, all from Huawei , are also beyond 320 or 40 Mbit/s.
In the USA, on the other hand, the current duo from Apple in the form of the iPhone 14 Pro made it into the first two places again. Due to the same cellular chips, the differences are small. In concrete terms, this means around 175 Mbit/s for downloading and 19 Mbit/s for uploading. However, Samsung fills the rest of the top five in the United States with the Z Fold4, S21+ 5G and S22 Ultra .
