The bigger the competition, the better it is for customers. This old concept also applies to the streaming market. That’s why providers like Netflix and Disney+ are now under pressure. Because a new streaming provider is now available in Germany – with new content as well.
Hard times have come for Netflix . The once popular streaming provider has been criticized for almost a year. Finally, the new advertising-based subscription should reduce costs and make positive headlines. But the implementation turned out to be anything but optimal . Now a new provider has appeared on the German streaming market, which should not only be a thorn in the side of Netflix, but also other portals such as Disney + and Prime Video .
PARAMOUNT+ LAUNCHED IN GERMANY
From Thursday, December 8th, the Paramount+ streaming service will also be available in Germany. The offer includes countless films and series – including “new & exclusive premieres”. The latter also includes the fresh science fiction series “Star Trek Strange New Worlds”. Basically, the content is quite extensive, because Paramount+ belongs to Paramount Global, which also includes Paramount Pictures, the CBS Entertainment Group and the television channels Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET and Showtime. The entire Paramount+ portfolio can currently be viewed on the JustWatch platform .
Interested parties can either use Paramount+ as an independent streaming service or obtain the content as a Sky customer with a booked cinema package via their Sky-Q receiver . If you want to keep your hands off the sometimes confusing Sky structures, you have to pay 7.99 euros a month directly. The subscription can be canceled at any time. In addition, an annual subscription is currently available as a special offer for a one-time fee of EUR 59.90. This results in arithmetical just under 5 euros per month. Anyone who would like to take part in the campaign has until January 8, 2023. By the way: Prime Video members and Apple TV-Users can also book Paramount+ as a channel. However, apart from a seven-day trial period, this does not change the standard costs of EUR 7.99.
PARAMOUNT+ – MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STREAMS
In contrast to the basic subscription from Netflix, which also costs 8 euros, several streams can be started at the same time with Paramount+. Up to two people can use the streaming service at the same time. However, it is still unclear whether both people must belong to the same household or be allowed to stream from different regions.
