For many years, Huawei has worked its way up to one of the most popular smartphone manufacturers. Just as the Chinese were about to overthrow Samsung from the throne and take over the reign of the cell phone market, shots rang out. The US government banned Google from working with Huawei. The result: no more Google services on new smartphones from the Chinese. Huawei was badly wounded. New models like the P40 Pro are like lead on the shelves . But giving up is not an option.

HUAWEI: 14 SMARTPHONES GET EMUI 11

Huawei is not only beating the drum for new smartphones. In order to keep the users of older models in line, the manufacturer now announces that 14 smartphones will receive an update to EMUI 11. Four of them – including the models of the P40 series (P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro +) and the Mate 30 Pro – will be updated by mid-December.

The remaining ten devices should receive the update by March 2021. In addition to the folding smartphone Mate Xs , there are mainly popular models from recent years. These primarily include the Huawei P30 , P30 Pro and the Mate 20 series ( Mate 20 X , Mate 20 Pro , Mate 20 , Mate20 RS and the Mate 20 X 5G ). But the Huawei Nova 5T , which went on sale in October 2019, will also receive the major EMUI-11 update. Last but not least, buyers of the new edition of the P30 Pro will also receive the update.

EMUI UPDATE: THAT BRINGS IT

EMUI 11 is based on Android 10 and brings a number of new software functions. This includes, for example, a new design for the always-on display, which from version 11 also supports GIFs. In addition, Huawei has noticeably expanded the multi-window function. The windows in which individual apps run can be adjusted in size. In addition, the operation becomes smoother when switching apps.

There are also improvements in terms of data protection and security . Starting with EMUI 11, you can create a hidden photo album that no other app should have access to. Furthermore, Huawei speaks of a smoother and more intuitive user experience. According to the manufacturer, EMUI 11 increases productivity, offers improved optics and ensures that smartphones always deliver high performance.
