At the same time, the ring allows faster charging with up to 15 watts. An iPhone that slips off the Qi charging mat overnight is a thing of the past.
A new report by Max Weinbach and EverythingApplePro now describes that Apple wants to further improve this system in the iPhone 13. The coil in the smartphone that is required for inductive charging is supposed to be “a little bigger”.
IPHONE 13: IMPROVEMENTS TO MAGSAFE
The enlargement of the coil is intended to optimize the temperature management and at the same time support higher performance when charging. So it is conceivable that wireless charging of the iPhone 13 via MagSafe is a little faster than the iPhone 12 .
Weinbach had also previously reported that the upcoming Apple smartphone would receive stronger MagSafe magnets. These optimizations could also help Apple to activate what is known as “reverse charging” in the iPhone 13. This would make it possible, for example, to charge AirPods Pro or other devices with Qi technology wirelessly on the back of an iPhone.
