iPhone 14: This display delicacy won’t come until next year

Buyers of a regular iPhone will have to wait a little longer. While owners of an iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are said to be able to use the long-awaited feature this year, Apple will only offer it in entry-level models with the iPhone 14.

There have been rumors for a long time that Apple will give the iPhone a 120 Hertz display. Even before the launch of the current iPhone 12 , there were rumors that it would finally happen in 2020. Then things turned out differently and Apple remained true to the classic 60 Hertz screen. Now there is information about the display of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.

IPHONE 14: 120 HERTZ IN ALL MODELS

That should change with the upcoming models of the iPhone 13 . However, the new display will supposedly only be found in a few variants. Specifically, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max should be able to offer a feast for the eyes with 120 Hertz. On the other hand, if you choose an entry-level iPhone 13, you will have to put up with 60 Hertz again

As MacRumors reported, referring to The Elec , all models will only have 120 Hertz displays with the iPhone 14. The OLED displays with the so-called LTPO technology should then be in all four iPhone variants. In addition to Samsung Display, the necessary screens will then also be delivered to Apple by LG Display. LG intends to convert current production facilities in order to be able to produce displays with LTPO technology. Samsung is the exclusive partner for the LTPO displays in this year’s iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO THE IPHONE IN 2022

While the models of the iPhone 13 will bring only minor changes externally, according to current information, some observers expect major changes for the iPhone 14. A mini model will allegedly no longer exist. Instead, only two display sizes – two models with 6.1 and 6.7 inches each – should be available.

According to reports by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Pro models of the iPhone 14 should do without a notch. Instead of the notch for cameras and various sensors that enable Face ID, among other things, there should only be a so-called punch hole. This small round opening for the camera has been found on various Android smartphones for a long time.
