It’s that time again: WhatsApp is working on a new function. And this could turn the organization upside down using WhatsApp. However, in a positive sense. This should soon become much more comfortable.
While WhatsApp was unchallenged in this country and in many other countries just a few years ago, Signal and Telegram now represent serious competition. Especially since the range of functions here is much greater than that of the market leader. This is probably one of the reasons why WhatsApp has introduced many new functions, especially in the past year. And their number is likely to increase in the near future. The latest feature seems to be particularly practical.
NEW, OLD WHATSAPP FEATURE
Actually, the new feature that the portal WABetaInfo unearthed in the beta version of the business variant of WhatsApp (Android 2.23.3.17) is anything but new. Because it can already be found in numerous applications in one form or another: the pinning of messages. Basically, individual messages are “pinned” in such a way that they always catch the eye as soon as you open a chat. Sounds unspectacular? It is. And yet, from an organizational point of view, the function is extremely practical and convenient. Because this allows all other chat or group participants to set clearly visible reminders.
A few examples: Appointments can be recorded in this way in an appointment group and telephone numbers or addresses in work groups. Excuses that you have forgotten something because the important message has already been “overwritten” by dozens of other messages are a thing of the past.
If the recipient has an older WhatsApp version, only a message is displayed. In it, the recipient is informed about a pinned message and asked to update the WhatsApp software.
CAN BE EASILY COMBINED WITH ANOTHER FUNCTION
There is no question that WhatsApp is working on pinned messages. However, it is unclear how long the development process will continue. When the time comes, however, the function should be easy to combine with another feature – the chat with yourself . This can be used as a notebook and becomes even clearer with pinned messages.
