NIO ES8 (2023): NEW FLAGSHIP SUV
Depending on the chosen configuration, the new edition of the Nio ES8, which debuted in 2018, can accommodate either six or seven people. A wheelbase of around three meters makes it possible. Equipped with a 100 kWh battery, Nio has a range of up to 580 kilometers. According to the manufacturer, the standard all-wheel drive with a motor on each axle and five driving modes makes it possible to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The maximum power that can be called up is 400 kW (544 hp) with a maximum torque of 725 Nm.
NIO EC7: GREETINGS FROM TESLA’S MODEL Y
With the almost five meter long Nio EC7 in the style of a Tesla Model Y, the manufacturer relies on a 300 kW (408 kW) strong high-performance induction motor on the rear axle and a 180 kW (245 hp) strong permanent magnet motor on the front axle. In combination, they allow the electric car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, according to the manufacturer. At its peak, speeds of up to 200 km/h are possible. As standard, the car features an active, adjustable rear wing that improves the car’s aerodynamic performance when needed by reducing drag. The EC7 also offers all-wheel drive – with as many as ten driving modes.
LARGE TOUCH SCREEN IN THE INTERIOR
A 7.1.4 sound system with Dolby Atmos support is used in the interior of both vehicles. In addition, ambient lighting and a 12.8-inch AMOLED control screen. In the future, both vehicles should offer the option of changing lanes autonomously on the freeway, depending on local conditions. A glass panorama roof is also part of the equipment list for both models.
The Nio EC7 is offered in China with a 75 kWh battery for the equivalent of just under 66,000 euros. With a 100 kWh energy storage device, at least almost 74,000 euros are due. At least 71,000 or 79,000 euros are due for the ES8.
NIO PROMISES A CHARGING CAPACITY OF 500 KW
Nio also promises a charging capacity of up to 500 kW for the future. Appropriately equipped fast charging stations have now been presented to the public for the first time. For comparison: the local charging infrastructure currently offers a maximum of 350 kW at its peak.
