The Oscars are considered to be the most important film awards in the world. On February 9, 2020, they will be awarded for the 92nd time in Los Angeles. Due to the time difference, the Academy Awards will take place in the middle of the night according to German time. The very big surprise did not come with the nominations for the Oscars 2020. The film with the most nominations is the comic adaptation “Joker” by director Todd Phillips. The film is nominated in a total of eleven categories.
Other films were also able to win the nominations. “The Irishman”, “1917” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Once upon a time in Hollywood” are each nominated in 10 categories. German films are not among the nominees this year.

The Irishman
