The Samsung Galaxy S23 series will once again consist of three devices. In addition to the normal Galaxy S23 , there will be the Galaxy S23 Plus with a larger screen and the Galaxy S23 Ultra with better equipment and S Pen support. Many details about the new flagship smartphones are already known.
GALAXY S23 PRESENTATION: THIS IS THE DATE
As usual, Samsung will present its new flagship smartphones at an “Unpacked Event”. This is scheduled to take place on February 1st. A time is not yet known. Samsung’s events usually take place in the early afternoon German time. An official confirmation from Samsung is still pending, but the information comes from the smartphone manufacturer’s Colombian website.
TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE NEW SMARTPHONES
The biggest highlight here in Europe should be the new processor. For the first time, Samsung is using Snapdragon globally instead of fobbing off European users with technically inferior Exynos chips. In the Galaxy S23 series, on the other hand, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is to be used globally. With 8 gigabytes of RAM on the normal model and 12 gigabytes on the Ultra.
Also new: A 200-megapixel main camera is speculated for all three models. This is already in the new Xiaomi 12T Pro and is being developed by Samsung together with Xiaomi .
GALAXY S23: PRICES AND COLORS
In terms of design, Samsung will probably say goodbye to the distinctive “camera hill” this year. The leak from Colombia also confirms the new design, in which the individual lenses are installed flat on the back.
The available colors are particularly important for many customers. This year’s highlight color is called “Botanic Green” and is a rich natural green. The new smartphones already show high-resolution photos in all four colors.
The prices could come as a shock to European buyers. Although no euro prices are known yet, the prices in the home country of Korea are around 10 percent higher than last year. If Samsung goes through with the price increase in this country, the basic version of the Galaxy S23 should cost a proud 949 euros. For the Ultra model, 1349 euros would be due.
