Shell Recharge: New prices for charging your e-car from July 2021

New prices and conditions are part of everyday life in almost every current tariff. Now it is also affecting the charging power provider Shell Recharge. From July, new kWh prices will apply at the e-car charging stations. And it’s changing even more.

At Shell Recharge, new prices for charging e-cars will apply from July.

Those who drive an electric car have to be prepared for some new prices these days. First it became known that the prices at EnBW’s emobility + were rising , then Plugsurfing also announced new conditions for car charging . And now it continues with new conditions at Shell Recharge. From the beginning of July, new prices will apply to charging using a charging card or smartphone app.

SHELL MAKES CHARGING ELECTRIC CARS (A LITTLE) MORE TRANSPARENT

Shell promises: The new prices are easier to understand, more transparent and more predictable. That may be true to some extent, but there can be no question of a “standard tariff”, as it is called in a customer e-mail. Because at so-called NewMotion charging points, variable prices generally apply, which can only be viewed via the app. After all: at Shell Recharge fast charging points, which are increasingly found at Shell petrol stations, a uniform price of 59 cents per kWh will be charged in the future. At other DC quick disconnectors, 64 cents per kWh are due. It is only more expensive at Ionity charging points. Here you have to pay 81 cents per kWh.

NEW: TRANSACTION FEE FOR EVERY LOADING PROCESS

You can supply your electric car with new energy more cheaply with a Shell charging card or with a Shell charging app if you control an AC charging station with less charging power. A uniform charging price of 46 cents per kWh will apply here from July. But that’s not all for some charging stations. Because sometimes you have to pay an additional fee of 2 cents for every minute that your e-car is connected to the charging station. And: You have to plan a fixed transaction fee of 35 cents for all charging processes in the future – capped at a maximum of 7 euros per month.

The new prices will not be introduced in one fell swoop, but rather gradually, according to reports. You should keep an eye on the new conditions in the Shell Recharge app between July 1st and 8th, it says in an email to your own customers.
