The well-known Captain Jean-Luc Picard returns. But this time everything is different, isn’t it? A well-known villain from the Star Trek universe returns. Once again Picard is confronted with him and time is upside down.
Star Trek has already grown by another series offshoot in 2020. Jean-Luc Picard returns with “Star Trek: Picard”. Patrick Stewart also plays the former captain of the USS Enterprise in this series. After the first season started last year on Amazon Prime Video , the series was extended for a second season. The first trailer was released to coincide with Captain Picard Day.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN “STAR TREK: PICARD”
In the second season, as was the case in the first season, Jean-Luc Picard will again be the focus. But this time there seems to be a slightly different threat to “Star Trek: Picard”. Nobody less than Q personally appears this season. The superhuman being is already known from “Star Trek: The Next Generation”. Even then, Picard and Q had to do with each other. Whether or not Q is behind this time, too, that Picard and the others are in a different timeline cannot be seen from the teaser trailer. However, the trailer clearly shows some changes. For example, you can see Seven of Nine without their implants. It also appears that Picard has never quit his job and is still working for the Star Fleet.
However, the reunion with Picard and Q is still a while in coming. Due to the corona pandemic , there were filming delays on “Star Trek: Picard”. So the second season will not be broadcast until 2022. Like the first season, the second season will also have ten episodes with a running time of around 45 minutes.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR
In the first season of “Star Trek: Picard” there is a reunion with Jean-Luc Picard who was captain for a long time. However, he has given up his job with Starfleet and now lives a quiet and relaxed life in France. But 14 years later, Dahj shows up on his winery and brings the calm in his life to an abrupt end. She asks his help after being attacked at home. Picard goes on a journey to investigate the matter. He meets various other people, including Seven of Nine.
