Tesla Phone: The alternative to the “sniffing iPhone and Android cell phone”

Rumors about a smartphone from Elon Musk and Tesla are being fueled again and again. Actually, the new Twitter owner had a clear opinion about a Tesla phone. But now something has changed.

Tesla Phone: The alternative to the “sniffing iPhone and Android cell phone”

Whether promises that come to nothing, wild concepts or detailed statements about the market launch and even the price: apparently many want a Tesla Phone. However, there really shouldn’t be any. Elon Musk confirmed that himself. The starting point was a tweet that considered a smartwatch from the car manufacturer to be just as realistic and has practically put the watch on the shelves. Musk replied to the tweet with, “Definitely not.” More so.

CELL PHONES ARE A THING OF THE PAST, THE TESLA PHONE IS WITHIN REACH

“Smartwatches and cell phones are yesterday’s technology, Neuralink is the future,” explains the richest man in the world. Neuralink is a neurotechnology company that Musk founded in July 2016. The company’s goal is to develop a device for communication between the human brain and computers. And of course that sounds anything but a “Tesla Phone Model Pi”.

But now it is Elon Musk himself who is bringing new impetus to the matter. True to the motto, what do I care about my chatter from yesterday? The US podcast moderator Liz Wheeler asked Elon Musk on Twitter why Google and Apple offer the Twitter app in their stores, but the Tesla and Twitter boss does not have a smartphone. “Half the country would like to get rid of the biased, snoopy iPhone and Android phone,” says Wheeler. “The man is building rockets to Mars, a stupid little smartphone should be easy, right?”

FIRST TWITTER, NOW THE TELONPHONE?

Elon Musk’s response was not long in coming. On the one hand, he still stands behind his opinion of the past, but then invalidates it. “I certainly hope it doesn’t come to that, but yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone,” the Tesla boss tweeted. Liz Wheeler created a poll on Twitter . “Would you switch to a tELONphone?” A good 130,000 Twitter users voted. The result: 51 percent vote for “yes”, 49 percent for “no”.

It remains to be seen to what extent this result influences Musk and the idea for a Tesla, Twitter or Elon phone. But the farce surrounding the purchase of Twitter shows that the richest person in the world can change his mind. Musk first wanted to buy the microblogging service, but only shortly after pulled his head out of the noose to ultimately buy Twitter for an unbelievable $44 billion.
